NAPTIP Receives 105 Nigerians Rescued From Cybercrime Syndicates in Ghana
NAPTIP has received 105 Nigerians rescued during a coordinated operation against cybercrime syndicates in Ghana. Ghanaian authorities said 119 Nigerians were rescued, while 14 others are still being processed. The operation followed contact between Ghana’s Cyber Security Authority and NAPTIP, with support from Nigeria’s Office of the National Security Adviser, immigration, intelligence and other security agencies. The Nigerian High Commission in Ghana also took part in the response. NAPTIP says the returnees will undergo profiling, protection and reintegration support based on their individual circumstances. The agency also warned Nigerians to be cautious of overseas job, scholarship and travel offers that make unrealistic promises or provide unclear recruitment details.
