Kidnapped UNIJOS Student Pleads ‘I Don’t Want to Die’ in Disturbing Video
John Arum, a University of Jos student, was abducted with six other passengers while travelling from Jos to Kaduna. A new video shows him in visible distress, calling out for his family’s help. Arum says his condition in captivity is critical. “I don’t want to die,” he begs, urging relatives to raise the ₦30 million ransom demanded by his captors. In the footage, one of the kidnappers warns that they will kill him if the ransom is not met. He explains the victims were moved from Kaduna into Zamfara forest and that money alone may not save them. The fate of the other six abductees remains unknown. The video was reportedly recorded on Arum’s phone and shared to pressure his family into gathering the ransom.
