Churches Can Support Society, but Government Must Deliver Public Services
Churches can support communities through charity, education, healthcare and other social interventions. However, they should not be expected to take over responsibilities that belong to government. When public funds are mismanaged and basic infrastructure is lacking, citizens should hold elected officials accountable. A church that uses its own funds to build worship centres or other facilities should not automatically be blamed for government failure. If government wants faith-based organisations to play a larger role in development, it can create transparent partnerships and provide properly monitored funding for roads, hospitals, schools and other public projects.
