Lagos Warns Residents Against Using Unregulated Cart Pushers for Waste Disposal
Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, has advised residents to stop using unregulated cart pushers for waste disposal. He said the operators often dump refuse on road medians, streets and drainage channels, worsening environmental pollution and flooding. The warning followed the monthly environmental sanitation exercise in Festac, Amuwo-Odofin. Wahab said the state is working with approved waste operators to improve collection services, landfill operations and critical waste points. He urged residents to dispose of waste properly every day, stressing that a cleaner Lagos requires both government action and individual responsibility.
