RSU Inspects Hostels, Reaffirms October 19 Resumption and Academic Calendar
Rivers State University has inspected its hostel facilities ahead of the 2026/2027 academic session, with students expected to begin arriving on October 18 before resumption on October 19. The inspection covered toilets and sewage systems, electrical installations, damaged doors and leaking roofs. The university said the exercise was intended to identify maintenance needs and ensure hostel staff and porters are ready to receive fresh and returning students. The Vice-Chancellor said the institution will adhere strictly to its Senate-approved academic calendar. He said lectures, breaks and examinations should hold as scheduled to help students plan their studies, graduation and next career steps. The university portal has also been opened for payment of school fees and hostel accommodation.
