My Friend’s Religious Fears Have Made Him Reject Marriage and Family

My friend Isa and I converted to Christianity at a young age after leaving northern Nigeria. While I became more moderate, he grew deeply devoted. He now says he does not want to marry or have children because he fears their eternal fate may be uncertain. He points to passages such as Luke 17, Luke 16, Matthew 10 and Romans 9. To him, these verses suggest that family members may be separated spiritually, and that some people may be condemned regardless of their choices. He also finds the warnings in Matthew 24 frightening. Verses about storing treasures in heaven have also made him question whether pursuing money, marriage and family life is worthwhile. He still wants to believe in Jesus, but he is considering ignoring teachings that leave him anxious. Can someone hold on to their faith while interpreting these passages differently?
