NHIA Workers Threaten Strike Over Welfare Concerns, Union Leader’s Transfer
Tension is rising at the National Health Insurance Authority as NUBIFIE has given management seven days to reverse the transfer of its NHIA unit chairman and address staff welfare complaints. The union alleged that workers face delayed allowances, stalled career progression, limited training opportunities and inadequate salary adjustments. It also claimed that staff who raise concerns risk intimidation or transfer. NUBIFIE warned that it could mobilise members for lawful industrial action if the issues are not resolved. NHIA management had not publicly responded to the allegations at the time of the report.
