Reverend, Fiancée and Four Others Abducted on Kwara-Kogi Route After Engagement Ceremony

A reverend, his fiancée and four other passengers were reportedly abducted by armed men while travelling after an engagement ceremony in Eruku, Kwara State. The group was said to be travelling along the Eruku-Iyemero axis near the Kwara-Kogi border when the attackers intercepted their vehicle. The victims include Reverend Abiodun David and Funmilayo Bamidele. Their vehicle was later found abandoned near an old police facility in Ayetoro, Ekiti State. Police and military personnel from Kwara, Kogi and Ekiti states have launched a coordinated rescue operation. Authorities have not announced the victims’ rescue or reported any ransom demand. The incident has renewed concerns about security on inter-state roads around border communities.
