Ekiti Bandits Still Holding 30+ Hostages 32 Days After ₦11m Ransom Paid
Residents of Eda Oniyo in Ekiti State are appealing for urgent government and security intervention. Over 30 people remain in captivity, even after their community raised ₦11 million, bags of rice and other items to meet kidnappers’ demands. A mother whose three children are among the hostages says the abductors now demand ₦20,000 recharge cards every time families check on their welfare. The victims were seized during a church prayer session in which a visiting pastor was killed. Families are living in fear as they await news of their loved ones. They are urging federal and state authorities, along with security agencies, to secure the safe release of everyone still held.
