Archbishop Ibezim Urges Soludo to Support Anambra Christians’ Pilgrimages
The Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger, Most Rev. Alexander Ibezim, has urged Governor Chukwuma Soludo to provide partial or full sponsorship for eligible Christian pilgrims from Anambra State. He said government support would help residents facing economic hardship to take part in pilgrimages, while also promoting spiritual renewal, moral development and religious tourism. The Anambra Pilgrims Office said it plans to work with churches to improve awareness, prepare intending pilgrims and develop a pilgrimage exchange programme that could attract visitors, create jobs and boost the state’s internally generated revenue. A stakeholders’ summit is also being planned to discuss the future of pilgrimage affairs in the state.
