BATMEDICS has announced a nationwide programme offering free medical outreach services to three million Nigerians. Separately, 6,000 people are expected to receive specialist surgical procedures at camps in eight tertiary hospitals across the country’s six geopolitical zones. The planned procedures include open-heart and renal surgeries. The participating hospitals include National Hospital Abuja, Lagos University Teaching Hospital, University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital in Enugu, and five other centres. The initiative aims to reduce healthcare costs for vulnerable households. BATMEDICS says it will share details about the schedule, eligibility and access arrangements as preparations progress.
