Former House of Representatives member Peter Ibrahim Gyendeng has built a Jumu'at Mosque for the Muslim community in Gana Ropp, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State. Gyendeng, a Christian who represented Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal Constituency, said the project was intended to promote peaceful coexistence and stronger understanding between Christians and Muslims in an area affected by recurring communal crises. Residents of the Muslim community welcomed the gesture, describing it as a symbol of unity, mutual respect and religious harmony. They urged the Federal Government to recognise and encourage more peacebuilding efforts.
