Nigeria’s Five Football Victories Over England, From 2002 to 2026
Nigeria’s 3-0 Falconets win over England in the Round of 16 at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland was the fifth victory by a Nigerian national team over an English side at any level. Nigeria’s first two wins came through the Super Falcons, who beat England 1-0 in a 2002 friendly and 3-0 in another friendly in 2004. The Flying Eagles then secured Nigeria’s only men’s victory over England, defeating them 1-0 at the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia. The Falconets also beat England 2-1 at the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup before their latest 3-0 triumph. The Super Eagles remain without a win over England, having lost twice and drawn once in three senior men’s meetings.
