Anambra Communities Seek Sustained Access to Family Planning and Reproductive Health Services
Anambra State and health stakeholders have called for the continued delivery of integrated sexual and reproductive health services after the close-out of an intervention in Ogbaru, Aguata and Idemili South. The project supported family planning education, antenatal care, cervical cancer screening, HIV and malaria services, adolescent-friendly care, and referrals for gender-based violence survivors. Community leaders said integrating these services at primary healthcare centres has reduced the need for residents to make separate clinic visits. Stakeholders agreed to set up a monitoring committee for the benefiting communities, with quarterly visits planned to help sustain the gains after the project ends.
