Eguavoen Says Nnadozie Could Fill In at Centre-Back for Super Falcons
Super Falcons coach Augustine Eguavoen says goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie could be deployed as a central defender if Nigeria need cover during the 2028 Olympic qualifiers. Nigeria beat Comoros 2-0 in the first leg of their second-round qualifier in Ikenne-Remo. Michelle Alozie opened the scoring shortly after half-time, while Uchenna Kanu added a header in the 60th minute. The team are considering defensive alternatives following Oluwatosin Demehin’s absence and Osinachi Ohale’s retirement from international football. Midfielder Christy Ucheibe started in central defence against Comoros, and Eguavoen said her versatility, along with Nnadozie’s ability on the ball, gives the squad more options ahead of the return leg.
