Oyebanji Honours Ekiti Teachers as NAPPS Seeks More Support for Private Schools
Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji honoured outstanding teachers and school administrators at the state’s World Teachers’ Day celebration in Ado-Ekiti. Award recipients received cash prizes for their contributions to education, including a ₦6 million award for the best teacher in a public primary school. The National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) praised the state’s efforts to promote academic excellence. The association also urged the government to extend more support to teachers working in private schools. The governor pledged continued efforts to improve teachers’ welfare, while NAPPS leaders said private-school owners were ready to strengthen their partnership with the state government.
