PeacePro Proposes Africa’s Peace City in Sambisa Forest

PeacePro plans to partner with the Borno State Government to establish Africa’s Peace City on a portion of Sambisa Forest. The initiative aims to turn a landscape once linked to violent extremism into a hub for peace, innovation, education and sustainable development. Executive Director Abdulrazaq Hamzat says the project will send a powerful message that conflict can be transformed into opportunity. It will attract investment, create jobs and reshape perceptions of Borno State. Situated near Yobe, Adamawa and Gombe States and close to Chad, Cameroon and Niger, Africa’s Peace City could become a regional centre for peacebuilding, trade and research across the Lake Chad Basin.
