Living Above Sin: From Spiritual Children to Fathers
In 1 John 2:12-13, the apostle speaks to three stages of faith: little children, young men, and fathers. Each group receives a promise of forgiveness, victory, and intimate knowledge of Christ. Many assume sin is inevitable, but Scripture declares that “whoever is born of God does not sin” by nature (1 John 3:9). Through Christ’s sacrifice, sin lost its power and death’s hold was broken. As a new creation, you share in Christ’s righteousness. When you walk in the light of His Word, you enjoy continuous cleansing by His blood (1 John 1:7). This is the mark of spiritual maturity and fellowship with God. Prayer: I embrace my identity in Christ. I walk in strength, victory, and righteousness. I live above sin, Satan, and the world through the light of my heritage in Him.
