Iseyin Residents Demand Urgent Repairs as Iseyin-Abeokuta Road Collapses

Residents of Iseyin in Oyo State have called for urgent repairs to the Iseyin-Abeokuta road, saying its deteriorating condition is causing economic losses for farmers, truck drivers and other users. During an inspection of the collapsed section at Oja-Agbe, community representatives said trucks carrying farm produce often get stuck, overturn or break down. They said this has led to delays and spoilage of goods moving from farming communities in Iseyin through Ibarapa and towards Abeokuta. Residents also cited a collapsed bridge at Ado-Awaye and other damaged portions of the route. They urged the Federal Ministry of Works to intervene quickly and declare an emergency on the road.
