Ondo Hospital Management Board Chairman Allegedly Assaulted Over Recruitment Dispute
Dr Oluwafemi Akeredolu, Chairman of the Ondo State Hospital Management Board, was allegedly assaulted in his Akure office on Monday following a dispute over recruitment requests. A witness said union leaders sought employment slots for several candidates, including a relative of the state JNC chairman. Dr Akeredolu reportedly refused, citing the governor's directive on recruitment quotas, budget limits and the need to hire qualified health professionals for state hospitals. Video from the scene reportedly shows people shielding the chairman during the confrontation. The allegations have not been independently verified.
