Agbara Nla: The Return Earns Over ₦71m in Record-Breaking Cinema Previews
Agbara Nla: The Return has earned more than ₦71 million from its cinema preview screenings, according to distributor Nile Entertainment. Box-office figures also placed the film at about ₦70 million from 12,134 admissions during its September 25 to October 1 preview run. The distributor described the performance as the biggest single-day preview gross for a Nollywood film and a faith-based production in West Africa. The figures also reportedly represent Nigeria’s biggest first-day admissions and gross for a Nollywood title in 2026. The film reimagines Mike Bamiloye’s 1993 Christian classic, Agbara Nla, later released in English as The Ultimate Power. It follows two believers who enter Muwonleru, a community controlled by the powerful herbalist Isawuru. Mike Bamiloye returns as Isawuru, while Damilola Mike-Bamiloye and Joshua “JayMikee” Bamiloye direct the production. Its strong turnout highlights the cinema potential of established Nigerian stories for both longtime fans and younger audiences.
