Monetizing Leadership: How Power Politics Are Undermining Okunland

Okunland’s historic leadership once valued character, intellect and community service. Today, that heritage is eroding under a wave of transactional politics. Leaders now treat positions as business ventures. Votes and offices are bought and sold. Public funds meant for roads, schools and healthcare are diverted to sustain patronage. This system subjugates citizens. Basic rights become political favors. The region’s agricultural promise and human potential remain under-tapped. Reclaiming Okunland starts with voters demanding long-term development over token inducements. Building independent community associations and creating youth pathways in technology and modern agriculture can break the cycle. Only by restoring leadership as service can Okunland reclaim its future.
