Detained Council DG Says Federal Agencies Validated Controversial Investment Council
Adeniyi Adeyemi, the detained Director-General of the controversial Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council, says he should not be treated as the sole person responsible for the agency’s alleged irregular status. Through his lawyers, Adeyemi asked the House of Representatives ad hoc committee investigating the council to allow him appear and testify. His legal team argues that excluding him would deny him fair hearing. The lawyers claim that several federal bodies processed documents, allocated office space, issued administrative codes, approved staffing arrangements or otherwise interacted with the council. They say this raises questions about possible institutional failures and have called for a broader independent investigation.
