1 / 3
A newlywed has shared the ground rules she gave her event planner and MCs before her wedding. She said she did not want sexist jokes, body-shaming comments, patriarchal remarks or lectures about submission during the celebration. She explained that she wanted her guests, including her asoebi ladies who travelled from different parts of Nigeria and abroad, to feel respected and free to enjoy themselves. According to her, her marriage is built on love, mutual respect and communication between adults, rather than the idea of submission.
