Ukraine Reportedly Strikes Engels Airbase and Russian Oil Facilities

Ukraine reportedly carried out long-range drone strikes between 27 and 29 July, targeting energy and military sites deep inside Russia. The reported targets include oil refineries in Bashkortostan and Saratov, a fuel depot in Kaluga, a drone-related site in Bryansk, and Engels Strategic Airbase in the Saratov region. Engels hosts Tu-95MS and Tu-160 strategic bombers capable of carrying nuclear weapons. The strikes, if confirmed, would show Ukraine’s ability to reach facilities far from its border and sustain pressure on Russia’s fuel infrastructure. Preliminary damage assessments are still being verified, so claims that every target was destroyed remain unconfirmed.
