Funke Akindele’s The Four Cast Spotlight Adire in Striking Press Portraits
Funke Akindele is preparing for the December release of her new film, The Four, and its first cast portraits have put Adire firmly in the spotlight. For the announcement shoot, the cast wore bold, sculptural designs by Aso.ng and Ola Reay Mens. The styling pairs hand-dyed Nigerian textiles with exaggerated sleeves, oversized tailoring, cropped blazers and dramatic skirts. Funke Akindele, Bisola Aiyeola, Timini Egbuson, Richard Mofe-Damijo and Shoday each brought a distinct look to the editorial. The collection shows how Adire can be reimagined for contemporary high fashion while retaining its cultural identity. With the film still months from release, its colourful fashion rollout has already given fans plenty to discuss.
