EFCC Says Adeboye Ordered Refund of Billions After Donation Was Linked to Crime

EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede says Pastor Enoch Adeboye directed the Redeemed Christian Church of God to return a donation worth billions of naira after the commission linked the funds to proceeds of crime. Olukoyede said the refund was ordered within 24 hours of the church being informed. The donor, exact amount and church project involved were not disclosed. Olukoyede shared the account while speaking to RCCG workers ahead of the church’s annual Holy Ghost Congress. He urged religious institutions to check the source of large donations and keep accurate financial records, warning that they must not become channels for concealing proceeds of crime. Adeboye reaffirmed that the RCCG would not protect anyone found guilty of financial wrongdoing. He also called on pastors and church workers to act with integrity and accountability.
