NPFL Warns Coaches, Club Officials Against Public Criticism of Referees

The Nigeria Premier Football League has warned coaches, club officials and other stakeholders against making public comments that disparage the league or its match officials. The warning followed a viral interview in which Sporting Lagos coach Jeffery Buter questioned the integrity of the referee after his side’s Matchday 6 match against Barau FC. The NPFL said complaints about officiating should be submitted through its established channels. It added that future breaches of its rules on public criticism could lead to disciplinary action.
