Benue Lawmaker Seeks JTF Deployment After 50 Deaths in Otukpo Attacks
Otukpo/Ohimini federal lawmaker Onyeche Blessing Onuh has asked President Bola Tinubu to deploy more security personnel to communities hit by renewed attacks in Benue State. In a July 28 letter, Onuh said more than 50 people had been killed in less than a month. She named Otukpo-Nobi, Akpachi-Ugboju, Agadagba and Efeyi among communities reportedly affected, with residents killed, injured, missing or displaced. She called for a Joint Task Force of military and police personnel, intelligence-led operations to apprehend those responsible, humanitarian aid for displaced families and the establishment of the proposed Otukpo Army Barracks.
