Leaders, CSOs Demand Due Process After DSS Arrest of NDC Mobiliser Richone
Political leaders and civil society organisations have raised concerns over the arrest of Rilwan Olawale, an NDC mobiliser known online as Richone. His legal representatives say DSS operatives arrested him during an overnight operation at his Lagos residence. They say he is being held at the agency’s Ikeja facility. The groups are calling on the DSS to respect his constitutional rights, provide transparency and follow due process. The arrest has also renewed debate about political mobilisation and civil liberties in Nigeria.
