Ondo Court Hands Death Sentence to Man for Youth Leader’s Murder
An Ondo State High Court in Akure has sentenced a 32-year-old man to death by hanging for killing a local youth leader during a supremacy clash. Toba Adeyemi faced two charges—conspiracy and murder—after prosecutors said he and his accomplices attacked Michael Alademomi, known as Eko, at his home on Fadeyi Street in May 2021. Witnesses described how Alademomi was stabbed in the neck and later died in hospital from excessive bleeding. Justice Yemi Fasanmi ruled that the prosecution proved the case beyond reasonable doubt. Adeyemi received 14 years’ imprisonment for conspiracy, plus the death penalty for murder under Sections 316 and 319 of the Ondo State Criminal Code.
