Why Nigerians Must Refuse Ransoms and Defend Themselves Against Bandits

We must agree: no ransom should ever be paid to terrorists or bandits. Hostages should be treated as lost, not leverage. If the federal government cannot protect its citizens, people should have the right to organise their own defence. Self-protection is a basic responsibility when the state fails. How can a government label as criminals those who rise up against oppressors? It’s time for Nigerians to stand firm and stop negotiating with terror.
