American hurdler Masai Russell has broken the women’s 100m hurdles world record previously held by Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan at the Zurich Diamond League. Russell won in 12.09 seconds, lowering Amusan’s four-year-old mark of 12.12 seconds by 0.03 seconds. Amusan finished second with a season’s best of 12.23 seconds, while the Netherlands’ Nadine Visser placed third in 12.34 seconds.
