Ekus Judo Club Awards Ekuta Enku ₦1.5m for Commonwealth Games Bronze Medal

Team Nigeria judoka Ekuta Enku has received a ₦1.5 million cash reward and other gifts from Ekus Judo Club in Asaba, Delta State, following her Commonwealth Games bronze-medal performance. The presentation took place at the closing ceremony of the fifth Ekus Judo Club Mixed Team and Cadet Judo Championship at Stephen Keshi Stadium. Enku’s bronze medal was described as Nigeria’s first in the event in 24 years. The championship featured 153 judokas, with participants from South-South states except Cross River, as well as clubs from outside the region. Edo State finished as overall winners, while Delta State came second. Prize money was also awarded across the U-19 mixed-team and cadet categories. The organisers said the competition would be sustained to support the development of judo in Nigeria.
