Seriake Dickson: NDC Aspirants to Pay Nomination Fees Only if They Win Primaries
Seriake Dickson, national leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), announced that only aspirants who win their party primaries will proceed to pay nomination fees and complete their documentation. The decision followed a joint meeting of the Selection and Screening Committees, attended by senior party officials and the party’s presidential candidate. All those who purchased Expression of Interest forms may contest on May 28 and 29, but only successful aspirants will report to the party secretariat for final paperwork. Teams led by senior NDC officials have been deployed to each state to conduct the primaries fairly. An appeal panel has been inaugurated to handle any complaints. Aspirants are urged to avoid violence, as the party has zero tolerance for threats or disorder. Dickson noted that this will be the last manual primary, with future elections moving to an electronic system.
