Kano Police Restrict Movement for Dawakin Kudu By-Election
The Kano State Police Command has announced a restriction of movement from 12 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday for the Dawakin Kudu State Constituency by-election. Only INEC officials, accredited observers, medical workers, firefighters and accredited journalists with valid identification will be allowed to move during the period. Police said VIP escorts, political office holders and government officials must not accompany their principals to polling units or collation centres. Vote-buying, political canvassing, armed presence and unauthorised security or vigilante groups around election venues are also prohibited. The command warned that violators will be arrested and prosecuted, while parents were urged to prevent young people from being used for political violence.
