The Amizi Development Association has invited the public to the funeral rites of Chief Dr. Dan Ndubeze Okiyih, the first chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Abia State. The wake-keep is scheduled for Thursday, August 6, 2026. Burial rites will hold on Friday, August 7, in Amizi Oloko, Ikwuano Local Government Area, Abia State. His body will leave City Gate Mortuary, Umuahia, for his hometown. A requiem mass will hold at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Awomuzie, Ikwuano, followed by interment at his residence and a reception at St. Peter’s School, Awomuzie. Dr. Okiyih is remembered for his service to his community and his role in establishing the PDP in Abia State.
