NCPC Urges Southeast Governors to Support Pilgrimage for Indigent Christians
The Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission has urged Southeast governors to help deserving low-income Christians undertake pilgrimages to holy sites. The commission’s Southeast zonal coordinator praised the Imo and Enugu governments for supporting pilgrims and encouraged other states in the region to expand access. She said pilgrimages can support spiritual growth and value reorientation. During a visit to the commission’s Enugu office, Anambra Pilgrims Office officials sought stronger collaboration on pilgrim administration. They also announced plans for an Anambra Pilgrims Summit in October to educate residents about pilgrimage opportunities, benefits and travel requirements. The commission also provided updates on pilgrimage protocols and travel advisories, including the recent lifting of a restriction on visits to Israel.
