Kano Police Nab Suspect Carrying AK-47 Rounds and Military Gear for Bandits

The Kano State Police Command has arrested a man transporting military uniforms and ammunition in Bichi Local Government Area. Officers recovered an AK-47 magazine loaded with 30 rounds, 79 additional live cartridges, two sets of uniforms, caps, a fake military ID and other documents. The 28-year-old suspect, Mohammed Isah Haruna, confessed he intended to deliver the items to bandits operating in the bush. He was intercepted after community members in Rimawa alerted police to someone in uniform acting suspiciously. The Commissioner of Police commended the Rimawa community for their vigilance and urged residents to continue providing credible information. The suspect remains in custody as investigations and efforts to dismantle related networks continue.

How did this suspect get hold of genuine military uniforms and fake IDs without raising suspicion so far?

True, it's worrying how he managed to blend in without anyone noticing before arrest.

It is odd that such large quantities of ammunition and uniforms were moved through Bichi undetected until now.

Focusing solely on this one captive driver ignores the more relevant issue of who supplied these weapons.

Local communities should report any unusual movement of military gear to authorities as soon as possible to prevent further trafficking.
