When Nigeria Bleeds: The Silence of Power
Nigeria today is plagued by insecurity. Armed bandits and kidnappers strike communities at will. They livestream their loot on social media, mocking the suffering they cause. At the same time, families battle a crushing cost of living. Fuel, cooking gas, transport, and food prices rise daily. Many are displaced, becoming refugees in their own land. Key institutions like the EFCC and ICPC are meant to protect citizens. Yet they are often viewed as tools against political opponents. This misuse deepens public frustration. Even influential figures remain largely silent or supportive of the status quo. Their loyalty to power over people feels like betrayal. Nigerians demand safety, accountability, and leaders who put citizens first.
