A Biblical Interpretation of China’s Growing Presence in Nigeria
I have been reflecting on the growing presence of Chinese traders and businesses in Nigerian markets. Many sell goods at prices that compete strongly with local traders, and this has made them popular with some consumers. I believe these developments may have a spiritual meaning connected to biblical prophecies about the end times. In my interpretation of passages in Isaiah and Zephaniah, the people described as Judah’s dispersed people can be linked to Nigerians living beyond the rivers of Ethiopia. I also interpret Moab in these passages as representing modern-day China. From this perspective, China’s role in Nigeria may be to provide relief or support during a period of hardship and oppression. This is a personal biblical interpretation, not a historical or theological certainty.
