Minister Seeks Federal Support for Onion Storage and Processing in Sokoto

He said producers in the area face inadequate storage, weak transport and logistics, limited processing capacity, and difficulties accessing stable markets. These problems reportedly contribute to losses during peak harvest periods and sharp price fluctuations. The proposed intervention includes modern storage facilities, improved logistics, local processing, affordable financing, and stronger links to domestic and export markets. Relevant agencies may be asked to coordinate support for the initiative.
