Maikaba Hails Flying Eagles’ Tactical Response in 4-2 Win Over Ghana

Flying Eagles coach Abdu Maikaba praised his team’s tactical discipline after Nigeria defeated Ghana 4-2 in their opening match at the WAFU B U-20 Championship in Yamoussoukro. Nigeria took an early lead through Olayemi Ayinla before Ghana equalised in the 23rd minute. Oraro Isaac restored the Flying Eagles’ advantage, and Muiz Adeleke added another before half-time. Ghana reduced the deficit from the penalty spot after the break, but Adeleke converted a late penalty to complete his brace and seal the win. Maikaba said his players identified and corrected their early mistakes after Ghana controlled much of the opening 25 minutes.
