UN Report Accuses Israeli Forces of Genocide for Targeting Palestinian Children in Gaza

A UN inquiry has found that Israeli security forces deliberately targeted Palestinian children in Gaza since October 2023, leading to allegations of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes in both Gaza and the occupied West Bank. The commission reported that children accounted for around 30% of all fatalities, a higher proportion than in previous conflicts. It cited the use of high-payload munitions in densely populated areas as evidence of intentional attacks on civilians deemed associated with armed groups. Israel has dismissed the findings, stating it strives to minimize civilian harm and highlighting the tactics of Hamas. The inquiry also documented a sharp rise in settler violence and claims of torture and abuse of Palestinian children in detention across the West Bank.
