Ogun Clears 111 Ebola-Monitored Travellers as Surveillance Intensifies

Ogun State says 111 travellers monitored after arriving from countries considered high-risk for Ebola have completed surveillance, with no case recorded in the state. The update follows the Federal Government’s confirmation of an imported Ebola case in Abuja. Health authorities are monitoring 44 contacts linked to the patient to prevent further transmission. The state says its emergency operations centre is coordinating surveillance, early detection and response. Health workers, port health officials and clinicians have also received preparedness training. Residents have been urged to stay calm, practise good hygiene and report possible exposure or symptoms such as fever, weakness, vomiting, diarrhoea or unexplained bleeding. Public and private health facilities have been directed to isolate and promptly report suspected cases.
