Wike Says He Wanted Fubara to Seek a Second Term in Rivers
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike says he had wanted Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara to seek a second term and still considers him part of his political structure. Speaking during a media chat, Wike said he had publicly praised Fubara’s work during the flag-off of the Rivers Ring Road project. He argued that completing the project would have strengthened Fubara’s case for re-election. Wike said he does not see himself as a godfather, adding that political groups naturally have leaders. He said he feels sorry that Fubara will not be seeking another term, insisting that he supported the governor because he cares about him.
