Man Seeks Divorce After Third Wife Tried to Stab Him Over Fourth Marriage

Kabiru told the Grade A Customary Court in Mapo, Ibadan that he married his third wife, Kadiat, in 2020 after two earlier unions. Their home was peaceful until he married a fourth wife. He alleged that Kadiat began to pick fights, defy him and once tried to stab him in bed. He said he escaped when he overpowered her and seized the knife. Fearing for his life, Kabiru asked the court to dissolve their six-year marriage and to restrain Kadiat from threatening or interfering in his private life. He has also deposited school fees for their children. Mrs. S.M. Akintayo adjourned the case until July 17 for cross-examination or possible foreclosure of the matter.
