Catholic Bishops Visit Jezco Founder After Release From Kidnappers
Catholic bishops, led by Cardinal Peter Okpaleke, and other priests visited Chief Sir Joseph Ebere Ezeokafor, founder of Jezco Group, at his Ekwulobia home after he regained freedom from kidnappers. Ezeokafor and a Catholic reverend sister, who was abducted with him, were reportedly released late Friday and found near Ebenebe on the Anambra-Enugu border. The businessman, father of social media personality Jowi Zaza, was kidnapped while travelling to a morning prayer session in Awka. Reports said the kidnappers demanded up to ₦1.5 billion, although police have not confirmed whether any ransom was paid. Anambra Police Commissioner Nnanna Oji Ama said investigations are ongoing to identify and arrest those responsible.
