Kidnappers Demand ₦950m for 19 NYSC Members Abducted in Imo
Kidnappers have reportedly demanded ₦50 million each for the release of 19 prospective NYSC members abducted while travelling to orientation camps in Akwa Ibom and Abia states. The buses, which left Ibadan, were attacked on the Owerri-Onitsha Road near Umunoha in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State on October 1. The victims were taken into the bush after gunmen blocked the vehicles. Police said 10 people were rescued and the buses recovered after security agencies began a search operation. Efforts are continuing to locate the remaining victims as families await their safe return.
