FG Pledges Resumption of Work on Dilapidated Bida–Lapai–Lambata Road

The Federal Government has pledged to resume work on the Bida–Lapai–Lambata road in Niger State, following concerns over its poor condition, accidents and insecurity along the route. Stakeholders from Niger South met with Ministry of Works officials in Abuja, calling for emergency repairs on the worst sections and the contractor’s mobilisation to site within two months. They also requested community representation on the project monitoring team. Works Minister David Umahi said the Tinubu administration remains committed to completing key infrastructure projects in Niger State, despite rising construction costs caused by inflation and foreign-exchange fluctuations.
